    What it is

Leads Map is a full-screen map of your open leads. Every lead that has a located address shows up as a colored pin. The pin color tells you the lead status, pins that sit close together are grouped into a numbered circle, and clicking a pin shows the customer details plus a button to open the full lead.

You reach it from the left sidebar: open the More group and click Leads Map. (The plain Leads list lives one group up, under Work.)

    1. Filters button

Top-left of the map. Opens the Filter Leads panel. A red number appears on the button when filters are switched on.

    2. Lead counter

Sits next to the Filters button and reads something like "42 leads on map". It counts only the pins you can currently see.

    3. Status Legend

Bottom-left corner. Shows which color belongs to which lead status so you can read the map at a glance.

    4. Pin pop-up

Click any pin for the lead number, name, contact details, address, status, service type, assigned field worker, and a View Lead button.

    When to use it

    • Planning a day of visits — see which jobs are clustered together before you promise arrival windows.
    • Finding work nobody has picked up — tick Unassigned Only to show just the leads with no field worker on them.
    • Checking coverage in a state or region — filter by State to see how much work sits in one area.
    • Balancing a field worker's load — filter by one field worker and see how spread out their jobs are.
    • Spotting where one service type is busy — filter by Service Type to see demand by neighborhood.

For everyday list work — searching, sorting, bulk changes, exports — use the Leads page instead. The map is for questions about where, not which.

    Before you start

    • You need access to leads. Leads Map uses the same permission as the Leads page. An admin turns it on at Settings›Team Roles, under the Management group, with the Leads & CRM toggle. If that is off, the Leads Map item does not appear in your sidebar.
    • Your leads need a real address. Fill in Address, City, State and ZIP on the lead. Joby looks up the map position in the background right after a lead is saved, and again whenever the address is edited. A lead with no address never appears on the map.
    • Your statuses and service types should be set up. The Status list in the filter panel comes from Settings›Lead Statuses and the Service Type list comes from Settings›Service Types. Only active entries are offered.
    • Nothing to configure for the map itself. Map access is part of your Joby account — there is no map setting for you to switch on in Settings.

💡 Tip: Just added an address? Give it a few seconds and reload the map. The position is looked up right after the save finishes, so a brand-new lead can take a moment to appear.

    Step-by-step

    1. In the left sidebar, open the More group and click Leads Map.
    2. Wait for Loading map... to disappear. The map opens zoomed out and then zooms itself in to fit your pins.
    3. Click Filters in the top-left corner. The Filter Leads panel slides in from the left.
    4. Under Status, tick the statuses you care about. Each one shows the color its pins will use.
    5. Narrow it further if you need to: Service Type, State, and your field worker list. Tick Unassigned Only to show just the leads with nobody assigned.
    6. Close the panel. The map re-zooms to fit whatever pins are left, and the counter next to the Filters button updates.
    7. Click a pin to open its pop-up, then click View Lead to open the full lead page for notes, calls, estimates and scheduling.
    8. To start over, reopen Filters and click Clear All Filters at the bottom of the panel.

    How to check it worked

    1. Look at the counter next to Filters. It should show a sensible number, for example "42 leads on map".
    2. Check the red badge on the Filters button. It should equal the number of boxes you ticked.
    3. Confirm the map re-zoomed around the remaining pins after you closed the panel.
    4. Compare a few pin colors against the Status Legend in the bottom-left corner.
    5. Click one pin and check the lead number and address match what you expect, then click View Lead and confirm the correct lead opens.
    6. Click Clear All Filters — the red badge disappears and every open lead comes back.

    Common mistakes

I cannot find Leads Map in the sidebar

    • Open the More group — it is collapsed by default and Leads Map lives inside it.
    • Check you have not hidden it for yourself at Settings›Account Settings, in the Sidebar tabs card.
    • If it is still missing, ask an admin to switch on Leads & CRM for your role at Settings›Team Roles.

A lead I just created is not on the map

    • Check the lead actually has Address, City and State filled in. No address means no pin.
    • Wait a few seconds and reload the page. The map position is looked up in the background immediately after the save.
    • Check the address is real and complete. A house number with no street or city often cannot be placed.
    • Check the status — Done, Closed, Cancelled and Canceled leads are hidden on purpose.
    • Check it is not a callback ticket. Those never show on the map.

    Most of my pins disappeared

    • Look for the red number on the Filters button — that is the giveaway that filters are still on.
    • Open the panel and click Clear All Filters.
    • Remember filters stack: a status plus a state plus a field worker can easily leave you with nothing.

I cannot tick a field worker

Unassigned Only is switched on, which greys out the individual field worker boxes. Untick it first, then pick the people you want.

Some pins are red even though the lead is not cancelled

Pin colors are matched to a set of standard status names. If your company invented its own status name, its pins fall back to the same red used for cancelled work, and that status will not appear in the Status Legend. Either keep the standard names at Settings›Lead Statuses, or use the Status filter to isolate the status you mean instead of relying on pin color.

    The map will not load

If you see "Error loading Google Maps", the map service is not reachable for your account. Reload the page first. If it keeps happening, contact Joby support — this is not something you can fix from your own Settings.

I want to call the customer from the map

The pin pop-up is read-only apart from View Lead. Click View Lead and make the call, send the text, or book the appointment from the lead page.

    More detail (4)

    Reading the map

    • Colored pins — each pin is colored by the lead status. Match the color against the Status Legend in the bottom-left corner.
    • Grouped pins — when leads sit close together they collapse into a single circle showing how many are inside. The circle grows and changes color as the count rises. Zoom in, or click the circle, to break it apart into individual pins.
    • Automatic zoom — every time your filters change, the map re-frames itself around the pins that are still showing. You do not need to pan around looking for them.
    • Zoom and full screen — use the zoom buttons and the full-screen button on the map. Street View and the satellite/terrain switcher are intentionally turned off to keep the view clean.
    • Lead counter — the badge beside the Filters button always tells you how many leads are on screen right now.

    The Filter Leads panel

Click Filters to open the panel. Everything in it is a tick box, and you can tick as many as you like in each group.

    Status

Your active lead statuses, each with the colored dot used for its pins.

    Service Type

The kinds of work you sell, taken from Settings → Service Types.

    State

Built from the leads currently on the map, so you only ever see states you actually have work in.

    Field Workers

Your active field workers, plus an Unassigned Only box at the top of the list. This group uses whatever name your company gave field workers.

Ticking Unassigned Only clears any field workers you had selected and greys out the rest of that list, because the two questions are opposites. Untick it to pick individual field workers again.

Once at least one box is ticked, a Clear All Filters button appears at the bottom of the panel and a red number appears on the Filters button showing how many boxes are ticked in total.

💡 Tip: There is no date filter and no office agent filter on the map. If you need to slice leads by date created or by the office agent who owns them, use the filters on the Leads page.

    What a pin shows you

Click a pin and a small pop-up opens above it with:

    • Lead number — shown as "Lead #1042", using your company's word for leads.
    • Customer name — first and last name.
    • Phone and email — when they are on file.
    • Address — street, city and state on one line.
    • Status badge — colored to match the pin.
    • Service type badge — when a service type is set.
    • Assigned field worker — the name of whoever the job is assigned to.
    • View Lead button — opens the full lead page, where you can call, text, take notes, book the job, or send an estimate.

Only one pop-up is open at a time. Click the X in its corner to close it, or click a different pin to switch.

⚠️ Note: If your company hides customer contact details from field workers, the phone and email in the pop-up appear as dots for those logins. That is the privacy setting doing its job, not a data problem.

Which leads appear on the map

The map deliberately shows open work only. A lead is on the map when all of this is true:

    • It has an address Joby was able to place on the map.
    • Its status is not Done, Closed, Cancelled or Canceled.
    • It is not a callback ticket — those live on the Callback Tickets page instead.
    • It passes whatever filters you currently have ticked.

Finished and cancelled statuses are also left out of the Status filter list, so you cannot accidentally tick one and then wonder why nothing shows.

Large lead lists are loaded in full — the map does not stop at the first page of results, so the counter is the true number of open leads that match your filters.
